Keleher & McLeod Announces the Retirement of Charles A. Pharris
Charles A. Pharris
After 44 years with the firm, Charles A. Pharris recently announced his retirement from Keleher & McLeod. During his distinguished career, Charlie was a popular and highly regarded trial attorney, well known as one of the top lawyers in the legal community of Albuquerque and throughout the state of New Mexico. He has received recognition annually for 20 years in Best Lawyers in America, honored as a New Mexico Super Lawyer (8 years on the list), Southwest Super Lawyers Lawyer of the Year for 2013 for business litigation, honored as a New Mexico Top 25 Super Lawyer for 2013, listed in the prestigious publication, Chambers USA, profiled in Best's Recommended Insurance Attorneys, and is rated AV preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell. He was honored as New Mexico Defense Lawyer of the Year in 2007. He served as President of the Keleher firm, setting the tone for collegiality, team spirit and a solid work ethic - and is remembered with great fondness by attorneys and staff who worked with him. Charlie served as President of the State Bar of New Mexico and was a long-time member of the Board of Bar Commissioners. As State Bar President, he led the effort to develop the State Bar offices in the Journal Center. Though this plan was opposed in its day, time has proven that the Journal Center location was the right direction for the Bar. During his early career at Keleher & McLeod, he worked directly with the esteemed firm founders, W. A. Keleher and A. H. McLeod. An avid outdoorsman, Charlie will now be free to devote his time to his family, to ski, golf and fish to his heart's content. Though he will be sorely missed, the firm wishes Charlie the very best in his future endeavors, with gratitude for all he has contributed to the firm and to the practice of law in the State of New Mexico.
